Out in the woods

Yesterday we went on a proper forage.  We walked through the woods looking for and trying to identify mushrooms and toadstools using a pocket guide as reference.  There were lots of different ones and it became easier to spot them once we had an idea of where they were and what we were looking for.  It was quite difficult to accurately match them up from the book but one we were absolutely sure about was called 'jew's ear' and yes, it looked like an ear.

My trusty photographer was with me and we have lots of photos which I will post as soon as I have learned how to do it.

 

Getting started

This blog will allow me to keep a record of a new found activity.  My daughter Paula has opened up a whole new world which I never knew existed.  The world of 'fungi'!!
